Hello again friends! Today we have a lovely submission from Pigeon(it/its), who specializes in photographing, you guessed it, pigeons!

Pigeon is very knowledgable about pigeons, so I will be sharing its descriptions of the photos in quotes.

"this is a band-tailed pigeon I saw!! my first one!! :O band tailed pigeons are close relatives of the extinct passenger pigeon!!

they like mountain forests but can be found all over western north america and some parts of central america!!

it's north america's biggest pigeon!! this was in a flock of like 20 birds, though I couldn't get a good look at them before they flew out of sight!!"

"this is a feral rock dove with muffs on it's feet! most traits found in fancy pigeons don't show up much in feral populations,

but some survive and get passed down to new pigeons. this is an example of that!!

these short feathers on the feet kinda look like boots, I think. (very fashionable B> ) some fancy pigeons have huge, full flight feathers on their feet.

this can be uncomfortable for them, but small feathers are fine and don't bother the pigeons at all.

otherwise, this pigeon's colour and pattern is known as blue bar!!"

"here is a pied imperial pigeon!! i saw one time that it's possible their colouring is for similar reasons to why zebras have stripes,

to disorient predators when they are all in one big flock together! i think they are really beautiful (all pigeons are)."

Finally, here are a couple of Pigeon's photos of feral pigeons that I especially enjoy.

I hope you all enjoyed viewing and learning about pigeons! They are truly the best bird.

Hello friends, long time no see!

I had to take a short hiatus from the ol' site while I focused on completing my education.

But now that I've graduated, I should have plenty of time to take pictures of birds, and post pictures of birds!

Today we have a submission from Sal!(he/him)

Here's some birds chilling out in the pond! I love seeing different types of birds coexisting.

Here's some Earlybirds, getting their morning cup of Joe. This picture reminds me of this comic by False Knees.

And last of all, here's a lovely photo taken by Sal's friend Bill, of some seabirds going for a walk on the beach.

Thanks for sharing your bird pictures, Sal! I enjoyed viewing them, and hope visitors to this site will as well!

Welcome back, friends! Hope you're having a lovely weekend. Today I thought I'd share some pictures of seabirds.

First we have a classic seagull. It was hard choosing just one seagull photo to share, so I might do a seagull-themed post in the future. They are very majestic creatures!

Next up is this beautiful pelican! At this beach in Oceanside, CA, they love coming onto the pier and showing off for tourists.

I'm not sure what type of bird this is, but it sort of reminds me of a Dr. Seuss character. If you know what it's called, please let me know by emailing birdbewithyou@gmail.com!

[Edit: Tigris has informed me that this bird is a Snowy Egret.]

I should also take this opportunity to mention that this website is open to submissions! You can find out more by clicking "Submit" at the top of the page.

I'd love to see and share the birds in your life, dear reader!

Okay, here is the final bird. This one is from a beach in Mississippi. I was surprised to find that the Gulf water is warm, unlike the freezing Pacific Ocean water.

And that's the end of our bird journey today. If you need more bird content, I highly recommend this short episode of the podcast BirdNote, about the history of bird houses in Turkey!

I'm back with another bird pic! But first some updates:

I figured out how to add a cursor effect! If you click the orange cat in the upper left hand corner, it'll follow your mouse.

Turns out adding cursor effects is pretty easy. I got mine from here. You just paste the link they give you after the body tag!

I also got some cool clip art from this website.

Okay, now for the bird pic! I took this on my college campus many years ago. I was just expecting a normal duck pic, but he surprised me!

That's all for now, folks. Have a great week, and don't forget to appreciate birds!
